Athletics & Sports Journey
Sports have become an important part of how I challenge myself outside the classroom. Water polo teaches me to communicate and react quickly as part of a team, swimming pushes my endurance and focus, and tennis challenges me to think independently and adjust under pressure. Together, they have helped me build discipline, resilience, and the habit of continuing to improve.
Taking on Water Polo
I joined the JV water polo team during the summer after eighth grade as a way to challenge myself. The long practices and frequent games were overwhelming at first, but I adapted quickly and began to enjoy the intensity of the sport. I especially liked the teamwork, constant movement, and the need to make quick decisions in the water.
Growing Through Swimming
Swimming has been one of the sports I have stayed with for years. I enjoy the steady rhythm of training and the challenge of improving little by little through practice. I also joined my school’s swim club, where I continued to work on endurance, technique, and speed. Swimming has taught me that progress does not always happen quickly—it often comes from simply showing up and keeping going.
Years on the Court
Tennis is another sport I have played for many years. Over time, I have learned to stay patient, adjust my strategy, and take responsibility for every point. I enjoy how tennis combines consistency with quick decision-making, and how improvement comes from repeating the basics until they become more precise.
